Topic Spill Meme| Customer Service Rep VS The Angry Customer

Customer Service Rep And Angry Customer

Too quickly we forget that there is a person on the other end of the phone. We all assume customer representatives are robots programmed to be immune to our insults. Of course we expect them to be emotionless because they are paid to hear us bitch them out. The truth of the matter is they are typically your last line of defense in getting your way.

Have you heard the old saying, “You catch more flies with honey than vinegar.” It’s true, if you present your position in a calm manner the customer service representative will be more inclined to want to go out of their way to resolve your complaint. If you are kind to them they will look for ways to help you.

By all means be assertive but don’t belittle them and treat them as your punching bag. They deserve your respect as much as you demand theirs.

About

First and foremost I'm a mother of two girls; circa 2004 and 2011. My interest and passions vary which is why I choice the name Topic Spill. Some topics close to my heart are atheism, alcoholism, religious tolerance, domestic violence and equality (LGBT Rights). I consider myself to be fairly liberal and support causes that promote social fairness for all classes. I'm probably just like many other parents but I also happen to be an atheist. I'm not a hardcore atheist who wants to eradicate religion for the world but I also don't think any religion has a right to impose itself on others. I fully support the freedom of religion that just so happens to also include supporting freedom from religion.

I try to always remember, it isn’t the person on the phone’s fault, so I shouldn’t take it out on them…. unfortunately that doesn’t always work!

It doesn’t work for me either. That’s why I make my fiance call all companies on my behalf. He’s so much better at it than I am. I just admitted defeat and I refuse to call companies any more.

  2. Being on the receiving end of complaints, it is always very much appreciated when customers articulate their complaints in a calm, respectful manner – partly because it is so rare! But mostly because what they’re complaining about isn’t my fault.
